Ashland Outdoor Activities

Skiers and boarders alike are welcome at Mt. Ashland, where 23 trails and short lift lines await you.

And since Mt. Ashland is only 16 miles from Ashland, you can enjoy the snow during the day and Ashland’s nightlife in the evening. Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are also available on many of the hiking and biking trails used during the spring and summer months.

Rafting, kayaking, sailing, fishing and swimming are available in the lakes and rivers — all within an hour’s drive of Ashland.

Several golf courses are within a short driving distance of Ashland, some of which have been acclaimed by “Golf Digest”.

Hikers, mountain bikers and equestrians can enjoy a 50-mile trail system that extends from the town of Ashland to the scenic heights of Mt. Ashland. Bikers can take the Bear Creek Greenway for an 18-mile ride between Ashland and Medford.

The Siskiyou Velo Club offers popular, year-round, organized rides for road riders.

Birders can spot up to 327 different species of birds in this area. Bird-watching is available as close as 93-acre Lithia Park in downtown Ashland, or an hour and a half away, in the Klamath Basin, where birders can spot hundreds of Bald Eagles.

Tennis players have access to public facilities in Lithia and Hunter Parks, and there are private facilities that also offer pools and spas for relaxation.
